EMMA KINLOUGH

Abstract Artist

The Art of Intuition

I’m an abstract artist based in Belfast, creating expressive, textured paintings that explore movement, emotion, and materiality. Each piece evolves intuitively through layers of paint - poured, scraped, and rebuilt - until a sense of balance emerges.

My work invites a moment of pause. Through colour and texture, I explore the rhythm between chaos and stillness - translating what words often can’t.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

I've been a fan of Emma Kinlough's work for years, and when I saw her most recent paintings appearing online, this one drew me in. Though small in scale, Whispers Through the Pines feels almost infinitely expansive and the abstracted layers reveal a little bit more every time I look. This piece is a pleasure to live with.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

What immediately stood out with Emma's paintings was the depth. Depth of colour, layers of paint built upon each other, bursting out from the canvas.
The particular painting I bought radiates warmth and intensity and has an organic quality both in the earthy tones used and the ridges and patterns of the paint. Each viewing reveals something new.

Gareth, Antrim.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

Emma has managed to create art with both depth and dynamism. Her ability to create colours and patterns which are interpreted by each individual is brilliant, I’ve one of her paintings in my living room and I love the conversations it creates. Just what art is for.

The Language of Texture

This collection is part of my ongoing Mini Series, which continues my exploration of abstraction - where gesture meets structure, and texture becomes language. I work with materials ranging from oils, acrylics to household emulsions, allowing each medium to shape its own story.

Every painting reflects an ongoing conversation between intuition and control - a process that leaves traces of movement, time, and emotion layered within the surface.
